Art on the Square in Kennett Square

I am really excited about being selected as a vendor for Art on the Square and to see the fine art and craft of the other vendors. The show is this Saturday April 27 in Kennett Square PA.
This is a link for information about the show.

I have potted up a few containers with beautiful plants to enhance the appearance of my display.

native American lotus

The beautiful American lotus or Nelumbo lutea is blooming now in the pond at The Judge Morris Estate which is part of White Clay Creek State Park near Newark DE.

The plant is native to southeast United States and is thought to have spread up the east coast carried by Native Americans who used the seeds and roots and shoots as food.

The plant is considered potentially invasive in some parts of the country as it spreads quickly by seed and rhizome.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
has more information about this plant considered mystically powerful and sacred by Native Americans.
